Bob Buhl
VP & Director Operations

Bob Buhl is a 38 year veteran of the transportation and logistics industry based in Miami, Florida, USA.   Mr. Buhl has global experience in Oilfield logistics, Freight Forwarding, Airlines and Ocean / Road / Rail / Heavylift transport solutions.

Recently Mr. Buhl spent 18 months establishing a ‘beachhead’ office on Sakhalin Island for Exel / ERA Logistics.   Through his efforts, major logistics contracts with Sakh II (Poong Lim Industrial – construction project), and Sakh I (Nippon Steel – pipeline and terminal construction ) were secured.

Having traveled in 35 African countries,  Mr. Buhl has extensive experience in energy and mining related areas such as Nigeria, Angola, Zambia, Congo, Cameroun, Gabon, Mali, among many others.

Mr. Buhl has held managerial positions on both sides of the Airline / Forwarder ‘fence’.  Starting with signif-icant experience starting with Pan Am Cargo and Circle Air Freight in Detroit, he was already globe-trotting early in his career.  Randy International, Martinair Cargo, Evergreen Intl Airlines, and Emery Worldwide also benefited from his innovative hands-on approach to logistics solutions.

Mr. Buhl established a fresh management structure and ran Nigeria Airways Cargo service from US to Nigeria.   He established fail-safe controls and set a record for over 10,000,000 Kgs delivered in a year without a single piece count exception.   As CEO for the GSA operation, he tailored I.T. solutions scaled to the unique environment of Nigeria logistics and matching hands-on operational control.

In Mexico Mr. Buhl used a similar approach to inaugurate the first International “Airline on wheels”, (SKYMEX Cargo) and provide reliable, time-definite service at a time when delivery and warehouse control at destination were chaotic.   His systems quickly gained a reputation for results and reliability.

Having lived in US, Europe, and Russia, Mr. Buhl quickly adapts to local situations and has developed an ability to see solutions where others see problems, and quickly craft a team approach which puts efforts to work and obtains results.

On Sakhalin, Mr. Buhl’s systematic, detailed approach to the “Bottlenecks” potential created by the simultaneous major projects of Sakh I & II had some unique results.   His rail link analysis of the critical Rail Ferry components, combined with an excellent rapport with SASCO the Russian Rail Ferry provider,  combined to persuade the investment of additional assets in time for project needs.

Seeking  Project Logistic Solutions for energy companies like ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, and  Rosneft on Sakhalin, as well as E&C’s such as ABB Lummus, Halliburton, Parker Drilling, Nippon Steel, Natchiq, Weatherford, Schlumberger, Fluor Daniel, Bouygues,  Itochu, Marubeni, AMEC, Parson, Chiyotec, Bechtel-Enka, and their Russian counterparts, has honed his “Customer oriented” focus.  By anticipating problems and providing detailed, nuanced solutions Mr. Buhl has a history of crafting not only the desired results, but the contingency elements that global project demand were secured.

Mr. Buhl has traveled and worked with the other members of the EP-Team, and provides cross-discipline support in various Project / Government / Aerospace tasks.
